Day 02 - 06 (Inclusive)

Enter the world of The Mara. Up early, a light breakfast and out just before first light – you can never anticipate what will happen from hour to hour. Within 700 yards of the camp, you may encounter Cheetah “Kike” who often uses the Landrover as a spotting platform, jumping up first onto the bonnet, then onto our roof.

Some days we are out from dawn to dusk, with a buffet lunch somewhere in the middle of the plains under an acacia tree. Other days we return to camp in the heat of the midday sun. It is difficult to give a day by day account as it depends entirely on the game that crosses our path. However, we will have been tracking events for some time so we will have an extremely good idea of what’s where. But as we all know animals can be so unpredictable and that’s the fascination of wildlife.

Discovering the whole Mara does mean the days are varied. You may find yourself staking out a potential river crossing with huge herds of wildebeest for hours watching the action unfold – camera at the ready.

Day 07

All good things must come to an end!

Departure:  11.30    Ol Kiombo Airstrip, Nairobi

Arrive:         12.30     Nairobi

We leave camp early for a final game drive on the way and arrive at the strip in ample time to have a cup of tea and pack the rest of the kit away. You arrive in Nairobi and I suggest that you have lunch at a great African restaurant Carnivore, then visit the Nairobi Museum, which is fascinating. After a quick Nairobi tour ending at Jomo Kenyatta Airport where you will continue your onward journey with great new experiences and terrific Kenyan memories.
