Amboseli National Park, lying on the Southern part of Kenya and bordering Tanzania, is a must add to your Kenyan Safari experience. With a vast plain, the park offers an unmatched wildlife experience with up-close encounters with the game. Huge herds of free-ranging elephants can be spotted, beautified by the backdrop of Mount Kilimanjaro, the highest free-standing mountain in the world. You can watch the sunset from the comfort of your room or deck.

For bird-lovers and photographers, this is a must-go-to place as it boasts over 400 bird species. The swamps are home to water birds like pelicans, kingfishers, crakes, the greater and lesser flamingoes, hamerkop and 47 raptor species. A sure photographers paradise.

The park is easily accessible by daily morning flights from Nairobi by Air Kenya and Safarilink, and is an easy add-on to your Masai Mara safari. You can start with Amboseli, then connect with the midmorning flight to the Mara saving on time taken to transfer. The planes fly low enough to give you to a great view of the Rift Valley and the vast savannah below, which is spectacular sight to behold.
