Masai Mara Park Fees Update:

In the good old days we enjoyed the Mara on our own. It was wild, we spotted the game for ourselves, no radios no mobiles.

Cameras were what basic photographers needed to know about F stops, light etc.

Fast forward to today where it’s a very different story everyone, calls themselves photographers, and they are! Their numbers have exploded. Guides dont look for the animals themselves, they look for cluster of vehicles! It has sadly developed into circus, guide etiquette is lost in the scramble, and more importantly this bad behaviour has impacted on the animal particularly the cats.

With this explosion of visitors and the infrastructure to support it, the governor has had to address the situation on a number of fronts, for example improve park management and park resources, more ranger training, greatly improve guide training and behaviour and at the same time give park visitors better value for the their fees.

in my opinion, introducing higher park fees to support the above with the emphasis on ‘better value for money’ is the way forward, and we are hopeful positive change is on the way much sooner than later.

We continue to give you an experience to match your expectation. Let's maximise on what the Mara is famous for, ‘7 wonder of the wildlife world.’ Please continue to support us. Come and enjoy the Mara revival!

The park fees have increased by $30 in low season (Jan-June) and $130 in high season (July-Dec), and visitors will now be required to pay $100 and $200 respectively. This can be viewed here.

We look forward to better times, and to the restoration of the Mara.
