Sarah came with her family for a 10-day Best of Kenya safari and she had a wonderful experience.

"Wow- if could give more than 5 starts I would- amazing, exceeding my expectations in so many ways. The staff are friendly and professional. The location is amazing just on the edge of the park so you are really close to the action- so much so that one morning as we were waiting for our escort to go for breakfast there was an elephant strolling through the camp. Our driver had 36 years of experience and it showed- he was eagle eyed at spotting the animals and had a sixth sense for getting the vehicle in just the right spot for a great view/ photos. We got so much closer to the animals and saw way more than I was expecting to. You may have noticed above that we needed an escort from our rooms to the main lodge- because of the proximity of the animals it wasn’t safe to walk alone in the dark- and yes we were having breakfast before dawn to give us the best chance to see the animals in action. Which we did- one morning finding a pride of lions with their kill at day break. This is not a holiday where you will be lounging by the pool (there isn’t one) but you will get to picnic by the river in the shade and watch the hippos and Nile crocodiles. In the evening there are communal drinks around the fire followed by dinner sharing the day’s experiences. The food was very good. Brain Freeman and his crew are welcoming and so knowledgeable, and we were well looked after from the moment we got into Nairobi- Brain set up everything for us in advance, including a couple of days in Amboseli which was also really enjoyable, but Mara was a much more authentic and individual experience, and we saw more animals and got closer to them. I can not recommend it highly enough. So many unforgettable moments."
